My husband and I met in Northern Maine over 30 years ago and married in our early twenties, embracing adventure from the very beginning. We spent much of our marriage in Upstate New York, nestled in the Hudson Valley, but after 9/11, we made the heartfelt decision to return to our roots in Maine.
Just a few months later, an exciting career opportunity brought us back to the Hudson Valley, where we built a life and raised our daughter. When the world shifted during COVID, we felt a deep pull to return home once more. In 2021, we resettled in Scarborough, where we’ve been ever since.
Out of our shared love for food, storytelling, and Maine, my daughter and I created The New England Palate—a blog that reflects both our voices and passions. Together, we write, explore, and celebrate the culinary richness of Maine and greater New England. With time spent living in Vermont, Rhode Island, and Maine, we wanted the name to honor the broader regional flavors while keeping the focus on the incredible food, people, and traditions that make Maine so special.
The New England Palate is a true collaboration between mother and daughter—rooted in heritage, seasoned with curiosity, and served with love.
